6th Grade Social Studies- The Collapse of the Roman EmpireThe last few days we have been learning about the events that led to the fall of the Roman Empire. We stressed that the decline of the Empire was not caused by a single event or person, but rather a string of events and situations. - Roman LawThis past week in social studies we discussed Roman laws. After creating what they believed should become law at Lakeview, students used the traits of persuasive writing to convince classmates that their bill should become a law. It was interesting to hear their ideas!

Sixth Grade Science News- Urbas - Science Week of Jan. 27 - Feb. 3Students next week will start of the construction of their earthquake towers. Student teams will be attempting to engineer a tower capable of withstanding an earthquake of a magnitude 9. Stay tuned for some rockin and rollin. Pictures to follow next week.
- Urbas - Science 1/20 - 26Whose fault is it anyway?Students have been learning about the Earth's faults and they agree, there are many. Next week they will be acting Seismologists and responsible for finding the location of an earthquake located somewhere in the U.S.Keep you ear to the ground, but not too close!

Math with Mrs. Snodgrass- Cancer Smashers!Lakeview and Prairieview have had a friendly competition with Eisenhower and Lace Schools to see which district can raise more money for cancer research. Lakeview General Music- This week in Music:The students will continue to play the keyboards in music class. This week, the focus will be to play with both hands (treble and bass cleft) simultaneously. There will be a 16 point quiz on Wednesday, January 25. On Thursday and Friday, the students will be composing their own song and performing it for the class.
